You will have noticed
that each week our walks are attracting large numbers of members - a
significant increase over previous years. So far we have received
192 subscriptions for membership this year.
Although in some
respects this is a mark of DWRG's success, group sizes over 20 become an
issue for car parking in villages or public car parks, straggled walking,
unpopular reception we get at the pubs, etc. DWRG's Committee is concerned
that our walk leaders have a relaxing day out rather than one of having to
manage these situations.
What is the solution?
Easy. Offer a choice of walks each weekend so the large group divides itself
between different walks. But this will require many more of you to lead
walks for the club. Whether we succeed or not is in your hands - it's up to
you to volunteer. The summer programme is currently being compiled and
you can offer an event by contacting any Committee member.
We recently re-opened to membership
applications after a temporary closure, so do get in touch if you added your
name to our waiting list. You can download a membership form and
